Research

The Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery is focused on conducting world-class interdisciplinary biomedical research spanning the fields of biology, nanotechnology and information. The goals of the institutes are to improve human health and well-being through breakthrough scientific research, and enhance the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s already considerable strengths in interdisciplinary biomedical research.

The innovative facility housing the twin private and public institutes of the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery, has been designed to prompt interpersonal interactions among researchers of various disciplines in efforts to facilitate new and unexpected collaborations that result in breakthrough discoveries.

The Morgridge Institute’s research mission, "Discovery to Delivery," and programming is being established by Executive Director Sang Kim and his team of researchers. The research programming of the public Wisconsin Institute for Discovery, of the University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate School, is being determined by a Research Competition open to the university’s researchers that will conclude prior to fall 2009.
