Ballinger, a 128-year-old architecture and engineering firm based in Philadelphia, is the design architect. One of the first firms in the United States to provide an integrated approach to building design, the firm is dedicated to innovative design solutions for technically complex initiatives. Uihlein Wilson Architects (UWA), a design firm offering architecture, interior design and planning services, is serving as the project’s architect of record. Established in 1985 and located in Milwaukee, the firm has expertise in a wide variety of higher education initiatives. UWA has worked with the State of Wisconsin on numerous projects during the past 20 years and offers this breadth of experience to the design and construction of the Institutes for Discovery building.
Headquartered in Milwaukee, GRAEF is a leading civil and structural engineering firm. Since 1961, the firm has built a portfolio of projects for which it has provided high-caliber, efficient designs for structural systems and site development.
Madison-based Affiliated Engineers Inc. has built its national engineering practice primarily on the disciplines of mechanical, electrical and piping/plumbing engineering. Internal processes at Affiliated Engineers are intentionally collaborative, bringing together the appropriate mix of disciplines necessary to complete any given project. The company’s sheer strength of experience and expertise in these service areas ultimately results in creative solutions and design elements for each client's needs.
